'The Girl' - which was Marilyn's characters name, sort of a forth wall break on the prevailing perceptions of a beautiful woman at the time, showcases a woman who is engulfed in beauty, a 'fantasy' to the eye of the beholder, but she is faceless. They only see her beauty but they don't see her.
